Kathleen Gilmartin
A registered nurse by training, Kathleen has dedicated her career to first-rate patient care. Starting out as Director of Health Services at Interim Healthcare, Kathleen occupied a variety of executive roles throughout the organization before ultimately serving as CEO for the last nine of her 28 years with Interim. With absolute devotion to her franchisees and caregivers, Kathleen has played a critical role in building Interim Healthcare into the third largest home care business in the U.S. She worked with Halifax (Fund III) to use this scale to transform the business into what is now known as Caring Brands International. Kathleen led acquisitions of the leading franchised players in both the United Kingdom and Australia to create what is now the largest global franchisor of home care services. Working closely with the Halifax team, Kathleen also spurred a resurgence in U.S. franchising efforts for the 50+ year old brand.
Since her retirement in 2017, Kathleen has continued in a variety of board roles including service with the Alliance for Home Care Quality & Innovation, the International Franchise Association, U.S. Physical Therapy, Inc. (NYSE:USPH), as well as Caring Brands International. She serves as a valued member of the BCI Burke (Fund III) Board of Directors, where she shares her sage advice in managing a leading independent representative network. She and her husband reside in Florida and have three grown kids who bring action-packed times with six children of their own.
