New President Brings Outside Industry Experience to NPC

Nutrition Physiology Company names Pete Anderson to head company

GUYMON, OK — January 2, 2009 — In a move to expand its leadership team with expertise developed outside the company, Nutrition Physiology Company, LLC (NPC) has named industry veteran Pete Anderson, Ph.D., to the newly created position of president. Anderson will lead the team responsible for sales and service of the Bovamine® line of products, plus development of new products and microbial technologies.

NPC is the North American leader in direct-fed microbial products for beef and dairy cattle and is rapidly expanding into other geographies and markets. Based in Guymon, Okla., NPC will expand with offices in the Kansas City area in early 2009.

Co-founders Douglas Ware, Ph.D. and Mike Ray made the announcement. “Mike and I have had a long standing professional relationship and admiration for Pete, founded on our respect for his integrity, highly successful track record and the leadership skills he has demonstrated in our industry throughout his career,” said Ware.

Ware and Ray will retain key management roles with NPC. Ray will be responsible for growth in the feedyard division and with the company’s feed additive delivery equipment and technologies. Ware will be involved in both dairy and feedyard field activities and will lead development of new bacterial products, both for production agriculture and food safety.

Prior to joining NPC, Anderson was with Ivy Animal Health, most recently as vice president responsible for the company’s VetLife division. As a charter member of the VetLife team, formed in 1996, he helped VetLife reach market leadership in ruminant growth enhancement technologies and was instrumental in developing the industry-leading Benchmark® Performance Program.

Anderson also has held technical services positions with Syntex Animal Health and was an extension beef cattle specialist with the University of Minnesota. Anderson earned a bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University and master’s and doctorate degrees from Michigan State University.

In September 2008, NPC partnered with The Halifax Group in a recapitalization. Halifax is a private investment firm that invests alongside owners and managers of leading small cap companies. Halifax’s equity sponsorship and resources will allow NPC, already growing and successful, to expand its research and development activities and launch new products, while supporting efforts to license or acquire new technologies.

“With our partners at Halifax, the new NPC under Pete’s leadership will provide exciting new opportunities for all,” said Ware.
