The Halifax Group buys Maverick Healthcare Group

PHOENIX, AZ – March 1, 2005 – The Halifax Group announced today it took majority control of Maverick Healthcare Group (“Maverick”), a leading provider of comprehensive home healthcare products and services in the Southwest. Managing Members of Maverick, David Scheven and Tom Martin, have retained a significant equity stake in the Company. Terms were not disclosed.

Maverick Healthcare Group offers a full range of home healthcare services, including home respiratory therapy, home infusion therapy, and home medical/custom rehabilitation equipment through a network of fully qualified health professionals in 17 branch locations in Arizona , Colorado and Nevada. An integrated service approach allows patients, hospitals physician referral sources and managed care systems to access respiratory, infusion therapy services and home medical equipment through a single source. In addition, the company operates six sleep diagnostic sites in Arizona and New Mexico.

Together with The Halifax Group, Maverick will continue to focus on managed care customers and increase its market share through internal growth and selective acquisitions.
